CANOE: LACQ GREEN VALLEY – WITHOUT CHEMISTRY, NO ENERGY TRANSITION!
Lacq Green Valley: to support the energy transition in Nouvelle Aquitaine region
CANOE new projects have been published in the INFO Chimie October 2017 special edition.
This year (2017), CANOE is investing in a new building of ChemStart’up facilities in Lacq area (France). Two unique pilot lines will be installed there; they will allow the local development of the low cost, bio-based carbon fibers and the nanostructured thermoplastic composites sectors. This idea is to produce good, bio-based carbon fibers for mass-market, complementing the high performance, acrylonitrile-based carbon fibers supply.
CANOE is considering to set up, later, in the same location, an open demonstration hub which will be dedicated to sustainable energy research. These facilities will be called Lacq Green Valley.
Lacq Green Valley will thus gather a combination of facilities dedicated to energy transition with the support from numerous centers, known for their expertise and know-how in chemistry, material engineering and energy, and located in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region.
